Design System / Service Design

Overview

SAP HANA Database & Analytics Design System is the single source of truth for both designers and developers. It defines and unifies the product experience across H&A tools (part of SAP Business Technology Platform), such as SAP HANA Cloud, Analytics Cloud, and Data Warehouse Cloud. This design system is internal and built upon SAP Fiori Design System and SAP Analytics Cloud Design System.

I worked on both the Sketch libraries, as well as several guidelines. *To protect proprietary information, the visuals and work sample below are not the most up-to-date. However, I am open to chat about the process in detail.

Sketch Libraries

In a team of two, I worked with another designer to update and manage the H&A Sketch libraries. 4 libraries (Belize Light, Belize Deep, H&A Key Screens, and Mobile) were updated and created. Ranging from UI components, chart widgets, to premade screens.

I was also responsible for handling component issues and requests.

Design Guidelines

I worked on Pattern Guidelines for Messaging (Announcement, Collaboration & Task), User Guidance, and In-App Help (Web Assistant), as well as a Component Guideline for Cards.

My work involved research, interviews with product designers who own the topics, working with UA designers on content, validations with stakeholders and design leads. The objective was to define what could be inherited from the central SAP Fiori Design System, what could be standardized for all H&A applications regarding the topics, also special use cases that could be added based on particular application needs.
